Quality, Value and Passion are the recipe for success at this Italian restaurant

For over 20 years Marchetti's Italian restaurant has been pleasing hungry Rhode Islanders with their delicious Italian foods. Brothers David and Donald Marchetti own the successful restaurant located in Rhode Island's own Little Italy, Knightsville. This is the perfect restaurant for any family due to their large portions at low cost. This would not be a top pick restaurant for a "mom and dad date night out" because of the immense plates of pasta, veal and chicken. Marchetti's restaurant prides itself on its casual atmosphere and friendly service.

This is the perfect stop for your staycation if you are craving a traditional bowl of pasta with a twist. Be prepared to leave extremely full, both your stomach and wallet that is. Although the portions are large the bill will be small. Aside from the traditional spaghetti and meatballs Marchetti's offers sandwiches, combination platters, and Italian favorites! YUM!

What's better than a seafood entree for $9-14 or a veal entree for $14-16. Marchetti's is a family friendly restaurant where a family of four can spend around $50-60 and leave with plenty of leftovers for the next day, or the dog that evening. Located on Park Ave in Cranston's own Little Italy this is a must stop at restaurant for Rhode Island natives wanting to spice up their staycations.

Rhode Islanders enjoy a wiener-all-the-way

"Ya want that all the way? Onions? Meat? Mustard? Celery salt?" Rhode Islanders know the secret to the plain ol' hot dog! A wiener all the way. This RI tradition began in the 1930's when Nicholas Stevens and his father Anthony moved from Brooklyn to Rhode Island. The original NY System restaurant opened in Providence and in 1981 a second location opened in Cranston, RI and still stands today.

What's the hype? This isn't your ordinary hot dog. If you're a Rhode Islander and are searching to try something new look no further than NY System's classic hot wiener. Start with a natural-casing wiener and top it with mustard, special meat sauce, onion, celery salt on a steamed bun. What better way to wash it down than with a classic coffee milk, one of RI's state drinks along with Dels. Better than chocolate milk, NY System uses coffee syrup in a tall glass of milk to make a decidently smooth drink.

You know it's good if a Food Network star has visited the RI restaurant. In June 2010 Guy Fieri visited NY System and was filmed on the show "The Best Thing I Ever Ate". With over 3,000 fans on Facebook NY System is still going strong in 2010. If you're in a hurry and you're looking for a quick and delicious bite to eat stop by NY System for a hot wiener all the way and coffee milk, your lunch will be under $5!

Cheap eats at a Cranston staple!

Looking for a restaurant in Rhode Island to satisfy that sweet tooth? Look no further than Rhode Island's Newport Creamery! Dig your paws into seasoned fries, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, and that RI favorite, Awful Awfuls. After all, they are awful big and awful good, as the slogan goes! This isn't your ordinary milk shake. With flavors ranging from the classic vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate to coffee and the new OUTRAGEOUS Awful Awful with Newport Creamery's own ice cream: Oreo, strawberry banana chip, cappuccino crunch and choc o' nutter. This dessert is sure to be a delight.
Why Newport Creamery? Of all the inexpensive restaurants to visit on your staycation why visit Newport Creamery? This Rhode Island tradition began in 1928 and since then the tradition of "good mood food" and fun allowed the restaurant to stay in business throughout the years. There are currently 13 locations, 11 in Rhode Island and two in Massachusetts. For your staycation check out Newport Creamery's location in Garden City Shopping Center in Cranston.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day. And of course dessert is a must. Enjoy an Awful Awful on its own or with your meal, it's a drink and dessert rolled into one! Bring the family and enjoy hearty cooking, although not the healthiest but it will make you smile! The Garden City Center location is perfect for the family or on a date because the gazebo is located directly across from the restaurant. Perfect for a romantic night-time date or for the kids to run around during the day to let off some steam from the ice cream sugar rush!
